I hear Kale was the veggie of the year in 2010, who knew there was such an honour, and who decides these things?
We (read mostly me) eat alot of kale, and I was a bit intimidated by the concept of making chips out of it. But honestly, it was super duper easy. Apparently it made the house smell funny (like garbage), but unless you walk out of the house and back in, you will not notice this! I liked it, and my husband kept asking, so how did you make this?
- bunch of kale, ribs removed chopped into bit sized pieces
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- wash and remove ribs on kale, chop into bit sized pieces, spin dry in salad spinner
- toss with oil and salt
- place on cookie sheet line with parchment paper
- bake in 350F oven for 10-15 min, till the kale is cripsy, and the edges are brown
Really it’s that easy, and it does taste good. It’s no potato chip, but for Kale it’s not bad!
